HipSick is a Rotterdam based interdisciplinary crew which operates at the intersection of performance and installation art. From a fascination with the fringes and night culture, HipSick explores and questions societal developments and normativity.
The work is characterized by extremely visual, brutal performances, artistic rawness and confrontational, personal subjects. HipSick has an unique movement idiom, in which the body and the physical endurance of the performers are central.
HipSick’s artistic core consists of founder Nadîja Roza Broekhart, maker Sylvia Weening, and technical and musical director Stefan Julizar. They are supported by communicator Aniek de Rooij and business manager Daniek Cappetijn.
HipSick operates from their studio at TimeWindow. HipSick is continuously supported by Gemeente Rotterdam
