[DIS]ORDER - The Spectrum of Sleep

An audiovisual sleep concert for the overstimulated mind, inviting you to drift away at your own pace. Lie down. Listen. Let go.

[DIS]ORDER – The Spectrum of Sleep offers a space where sensitivity, slowness and being different are not treated as limitations, but as sources of connection and imagination. Challenging dominant social and sensory norms, HipSick creates an environment where everyone is free to move at their own pace. In a world that grows increasingly loud, fast and demanding, we ask: what if it were okay to simply be still for a while?

Contemporary society is built around efficiency, speed and conformity, often from a neurotypical perspective. Those who do not fit within these structures are frequently expected to adapt or are perceived as different. In the process, qualities that hold immense value are often overlooked: creativity, sensitivity and the ability to think beyond established frameworks. [DIS]ORDER departs from this norm. Rather than offering compensation, it makes space for alternative rhythms and ways of perceiving. Here, heightened sensitivity is welcome. Processing slowly is welcome. Pausing is welcome. The pace is not dictated by the outside world, but by one’s own neurological landscape. Falling asleep is not a failure, but a form of listening; a sign that the body feels safe enough to let go.

[DIS]ORDER – The Spectrum of Sleep is a liminal space in which visitors make a conscious choice to step away from the noise, stimuli and expectations of everyday life. It offers permission to settle into a controlled state of restfulness, or even to fall fully asleep. Both are welcome. Both are part of the work. Through light, sound, voice and movement, the experience gradually softens mental activity and gently guides the body into a state between wakefulness and sleep. Small rituals become gateways to rest, focus and restoration.
