Known for its raw, experimental style, the Rotterdam-based interdisciplinary crew HipSick plays with the audience’s perception through performances, installations, and audiovisual experiments. HipSick explores the influence of social norms, the shaping of identity, and the limits of the human body.

HipSick has its roots in DIY culture, emerging from underground raves, squats, and collective creativity. Always unconventional, direct, and in motion.

HipSick refuses to be confined; unpredictable, physical, and in constant interaction with space and audience. Its performances and installations do not follow traditional rules but take shape in response to their surroundings—whether in an abandoned factory, a festival site, a theatre, or a gallery.

HipSick challenges its audience to let go of what they think they know. Between discomfort and surrender, between trance and digital disruption, an experience unfolds that unsettles the senses and shifts perspectives. In this world, the body becomes fluid, identity flexible, and time a stretchable concept.

HipSick has previously performed at venues such as Felix Meritis, TENT, Over ‘t IJ, Korzo, Chalon dans La Rue (FR), The Grey Space In The Middle, Motel Mozaique, Wasteland, WORM, at.tension (DE), Brutus, Theater Kikker, Amsterdam Fringe Festival, Mysteryland, and Maassilo.
